Contact Energy (ASX:CEN, NZE:CEN) said Macquarie Group (ASX:MQG) and its controlled entities have become a substantial holder in the company on May 20 with a stake of 5.04% or 54 million shares, according to a Wednesday Australia and New Zealand bourse filing.
The filing showed that Macquarie's unit, Macquarie Securities, made a block trade for 53.5 million shares on Wednesday, priced at NZ$9.25 per share.
