Advance Auto Parts logged higher same-store sales in its latest quarter, boosted by growth in its pro and do-it-yourself businesses.

The stock rose 4.9%, to $53.75, in premarket trading Thursday. Through Wednesday's market close, shares were up 30% year to date.

The car-part seller on Thursday posted a first-quarter profit of $24 million, or 39 cents a share, compared with $24 million, or 40 cents a share, a year earlier.

Adjusted earnings per share were 77 cents, compared with estimates of 43 cents a share according to analysts polled by FactSet.

Revenue edged up to $2.61 billion from $2.58 billion. Analysts projected $2.57 billion. The sales figure from the year-earlier quarter included about $51 million related to sales at stores closed during that period as a result of the company's 2024 restructuring plan, it said.

Same-store sales rose 3.5%, compared with the 1.9% growth analysts expected.

Chief Executive Shane O'Kelly said the comparable-sales increase included mid-single-digit growth in the company's pro business and low-single-digit growth in its DIY channel, driven by a sequential improvement in transactions.

Advance Auto Parts also backed its outlook for the full year, guiding for same-store sales growth of 1% to 2% and annual revenue of about $8.49 billion to $8.58 billion. It continues to expect adjusted earnings per share of $2.40 to $3.10.

"2026 is off to a solid start and we remain on track to execute our strategic priorities for the year," O'Kelly said.
