其中，沙特阿美是全球市值最高的上市石油公司，市值高达1.8万亿美元，占前20家公司总市值的三分之一以上。
此外，北美在榜单中占据主导地位，共有10家公司上榜，总市值达1.9万亿美元。其中8家为美国公司，包括埃克森美孚(6370亿美元)和雪佛龙(3800亿美元)、康菲石油(1520亿美元)等；2家为加拿大公司——Enbridge和Canadian Natural Resources。
西欧也占据了相当大的份额，壳牌、道达尔能源、英国石油、Equinor和埃尼集团均榜上有名。东亚地区则完全由中国的“三桶油”(中石油、中海油和中石化)所代表。
