欧洲央行管委Yannis Stournaras表示，欧洲央行必须避免采取过于限制性的做法，以免进一步加重经济活动和投资的负担。
“如果通胀率显著但暂时超过目标，应对措施应保持平衡，”担任希腊央行行长的Stournaras周一向议员表示。
欧洲决策者在上次会议上已经讨论过提高利率的可能性。Stournaras认为，当前需要的是“谨慎地将货币政策向更具限制性的方向调整，在遏制次生效应强度的同时，又不至于对经济活动造成不成比例的影响”。
上周Stournaras表示，维护欧洲央行的信誉，是支撑6月11日加息的有力理由。
经济学家和投资者预计届时将变动0.25个百分点，几位管委也表示，如果美国和伊朗不能达成持久的和平协议，此举或不可避免。
