NYC Could Be One Weak Market Among World Cup Hosts -- Market Talk

1311 ET - New York City could be one exception to strong World Cup demand, Truist analysts say. While the analysts are generally optimistic about strong demand for the soccer tournament, they acknowledge that New York is one host city where there may be some weakness. It is the one host market where lodging occupancy in June is tracking down year-over-year, the analysts say. They say this could be because hotel pricing in New York City is too aggressive. Revenue per available room is still growing year-over-year, however, thanks to strong room rate growth, they say. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
