Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930) and Harvard Medical School affiliate Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) will jointly track and analyze physical changes in patients taking glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) class treatments with the help of the Galaxy Watch.
GLP-1 is an intestinal hormone that helps regulate blood sugar and suppress appetite, Samsung Electronics said in a Thursday release.
The study will assess whether data from the Galaxy Watch 8 and Samsung Health can help manage muscle loss in patients who take GLP-1 drugs by tracking body composition, activity, and heart rate, according to the release.
