0750 GMT - London's miners gain in their first trading day since the U.S. and Iran signaled progress over the weekend on a deal that could open the Strait of Hormuz. The outlook remains cloudy, however, especially after the U.S attacked targets in southern Iran in what American military officials described as defensive strikes. In early trading, New York gold futures are up 0.2% at $4,532.30 a troy ounce. Precious metal miners Hochschild Mining and Endeavour Mining are both up around 3%. The London-listed shares of Rio Tinto and BHP gain 2.4% and 2%, respectively. Glencore rises 2.4% and Anglo American 2%. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
