Unusual Machines (UMAC) is among several US drone makers in talks with the Trump administration and the Pentagon over potential funding support to expand domestic production and reduce manufacturing costs, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday evening, citing people familiar with the matter.
The talks also involve Neros Technologies and Performance Drone Works, with discussions centered on loans, debt financing and possible equity investments tied to Pentagon-backed national security supply chain programs, according to the report.
The effort aligns with the Pentagon's Drone Dominance initiative, which aims to accumulate about 300,000 low-cost attack drones by the end of 2027 to strengthen US domestic drone production capabilities, the report added.
Unusual Machines did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Unusual Machines shares were up 36% in Thursday's premarket activity.
