路透北京5月27日 - 默克公司（MRK.N）表示，其针对鸡支气管炎的疫苗已获得中国农业部的批准，可在全球最大的养鸡国——拥有超过50亿只家禽的中国——使用。
这家美国公司周三表示，从周四起，今日孵化的所有雏鸡均可接种该疫苗，该活疫苗制剂适用于1日龄及以上的鸡。
该疫苗针对传染性鸡支气管炎4-91型病毒株，这是一种高度传染性的鸡冠状病毒，于20世纪90年代初在英国首次被发现。
据美国国家卫生研究院的研究机构称，鸡支气管炎的典型副作用包括产蛋量下降和咳嗽。
中国农业大学教授张国忠在声明中指出，鸡支气管炎具有“高变异率和快速传播”的特点，并警告称各鸡群面临“严重且复杂”的疫情风险。
