消息面上，美伊冲突以来，霍尔木兹海峡封锁致中东出口受限，加之美湾等长航线原油出口增量有限，VLCC呈现船多货少。3-5月，VLCC合计货盘同比-54%。但据Frontline统计，有多达55艘VLCC正空载固执地徘徊在中东湾以外，拒绝前往大西洋盆地去争抢货源。Frontline首席执行官认为，闲置运力拒绝运营，导致VLCC即期运价居高不下。
国信证券指出，现阶段，霍尔木兹海峡通行量仍然维持在低位水平，在海峡封锁的背景下，油运市场整体属于供过于求的格局，且当下正处淡季，油运运价的震荡态势已属稳健。该行认为，目前油运运价仍然处于底部支撑位。海峡短期恢复通行，原油抢运需求叠加长锦商船运力控制，有望驱动运价短期快速冲高。
