ChainCatcher 消息，ETH 跌破 2000 美元，为今年 3 月以来首次。过去 7 天 ETH 累计下跌近 8%，其中近 24 小时跌超 5%。与此同时，ETH 期货未平仓合约（OI）却连续第三日上升，并创下 1,639 万枚 ETH 的历史新高，名义价值约 325 亿美元。分析认为，在现货价格下跌背景下，OI 持续攀升意味着市场正在出现更激进的杠杆做空行为。
10x Research 创始人 Markus Thielen 表示，越来越多投资者开始放弃 ETH，“ETH 不产生现金流，而在美债收益率上升背景下，质押收益率吸引力下降。”此外，美国现货 ETH ETF 本月累计净流出 4.01 亿美元，已完全逆转 4 月 3.54 亿美元净流入。市场情绪也因以太坊基金会核心成员离职持续恶化。
Bankless 联创 David Hoffman 此前亦表示已出售 ETH 持仓，认为“ETH 是货币”叙事已被充分定价。Web3 研究机构 House of Chimera 表示，市场正在质疑以太坊生态在 DeFi、RWA 与代币化领域的优势，究竟能否真正反馈至 ETH 代币本身。
