Shape Australia's Latest Acquisition Increases Optimism -- Market Talk

0118 GMT - Shape Australia's A$30.4 million acquisition of rival commercial fitout provider APS increases optimism at Morgans. Raising his recommendation on Shape to buy from accumulate, analyst Declan Carroll flags the EPS accretion and increased exposure to retail opportunities that are expected to flow from the acquisition. Carroll tells clients in a note that the deal is consistent with Shape's M&A strategy. He describes Shape as a higher-quality contractor with short-duration projects, strong repeat business, a disciplined approach to contract selection and a capital-light delivery model. Morgans raises its target price by 0.3% to 8.65 Australian dollars. Shares are up 4.3% at A$7.465. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
