Shares of Netskope sank post market as a wider first-quarter loss out weighed a boost to full-year guidance.

The stock was down 21% to $9.81 after hours on Wednesday. Shares closed the regular trading session down 29% for the year. The company went public last September and closed at $22.39 in its market debut.

The maker of cybersecurity products for securing corporate software and data reported a first-quarter loss that ballooned to $116.5 million from $79.2 million a year earlier due to climbing costs. Adjusted for one-time items, the loss was 6 cents a share, beating analyst views for a loss of 7 cents a share.

Revenue climbed to $201.6 million, ahead of the $198.2 million analysts expected according to FactSet, and topped the company's guidance.

Netskope said it now expects $879 million to $883 million in revenue for the full fiscal year, up from its previous forecast for $870 million to $876 million. It is expecting an adjusted loss of 18 cents a share, which is still better than the 19 cents a share analysts had been forecasting, according to FactSet.

The company's revenue growth is expected to decelerate slightly to between 25% and 26% from 28% in the second quarter. That would result in revenue of about $213 million to $215 million, which is higher than the $211.7 million analysts surveyed by FactSet were targeting.
