Li Ning's Brand Could Get a Lift From Curry Deal -- Market Talk

0227 GMT - Li Ning's brand could get a lift from its recent deal with popular NBA basketball player Stephen Curry, Nomura analysts say in a note. The Chinese sportswear company has signed an agreement with Curry to explore business opportunities in the fields of basketball, golf and sports leisure. Although there are limited official details about the agreement, it has been reported that the contract with Curry will last for 10 years, Nomura says. "In our view, Stephen Curry will also have meaningful power in running the collaboration between Li Ning and the Curry Brand," it adds. Nomura maintains a neutral rating on the stock and target price of 23.40 Hong Kong dollars. Shares are at HK$17.27.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
