1820 ET [Dow Jones]--Consumers are increasingly focused on value as they feel the pressure of continued economic uncertainty, inflation and rising fuel prices, Ulta Beauty CEO Kecia Steelman says during a call with analysts. However, Steelman says the beauty and wellness categories remain healthy with strong engagement, and Ulta has advantages that should help it appeal to shoppers with different budgets. "We are operating from a position of strength in this environment and have multiple levers to satisfy guests' value needs," Steelman says, pointing to the company's diverse assortment and loyalty rewards program. "We will continue to thoughtfully navigate the operating environment and respond with agility." (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
