Alpha Tau Medical (DRTS) said Monday that data from a pooled analysis of three prospective phase 1/2 trials of its Alpha DaRT device to treat advanced pancreatic cancer, exceeded the overall survival and safety rate compared with standard second-line chemotherapy.

The oncology company said the data came from a pooled analysis of the clinical studies, which are evaluating endoscopic ultrasound-guided intratumoral Alpha DaRT treatment in patients who have locally advanced or metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Alpha DaRT-treated patients who have already received two lines of chemotherapy had a median overall survival of 17.1 months in locally advanced disease, and 11.3 months in metastatic disease, the company said. This is compared with approximately nine months for and four to six months respectively for standard second-line chemotherapies, Alpha Tau Medical said.
