消息面上，据市场媒体报道，美国中央司令部表示，6月2日，美军成功拦截了伊朗发射的多枚弹道导弹及无人机，并针对伊朗在中东全境企图发动的袭击，对格什姆岛实施了“自卫打击”。另一边，伊朗革命卫队的公告称，作为回应，伊朗伊斯兰革命卫队航空航天部队对美国位于该地区某国的空军基地以及美国第五舰队总部发动了导弹和无人机袭击。
小摩分析认为，海峡在6月内重开的可能性极低，这一判断比多数投资者更为悲观。小摩指出，布伦特原油目前约95美元/桶的价格水平，隐含了市场对海峡短期开放的定价预期，但上行风险远大于下行风险——若海峡持续封锁，油价存在冲至130美元乃至150美元/桶的非对称上行空间。此外，国际能源署石油工业与市场部门负责人Toril Bosoni强调，即使今天美伊双方达成和平协议，开放霍尔木兹海峡，最好的情况下该海峡也可能需要六到八个月的时间才能重新正常通航。这给原油市场恢复供应蒙上了极大的阴影。
