Samsara Lifts Outlook After Swing to 1Q Profit

Samsara lifted its outlook after swinging to a profit in the first quarter.

The company, which provides vehicle fleet management software, said Thursday that it now expects full-year adjusted earnings of between 70 cents and 72 cents a share on revenue of roughly $2.01 billion.

It was previously projecting adjusted earnings between 65 cents and 69 cents a share on revenue of $1.965 billion to $1.975 billion.

Analysts polled by FactSet are expecting 68 cents a share on revenue of $1.97 billion.

Samsara reported a profit of $44.5 million, or 8 cents a share, compared with a loss of $22.1 million, or 4 cents a share, a year earlier.

Stripping out certain one-time items, the company reported adjusted earnings of 17 cents a share, ahead of the 13 cents analysts were anticipating, according to FactSet.

Revenue rose to $478.8 million from $366.9 million a year prior. Analysts were expecting $455.2 million.

The company reported annual recurring revenue of $1.99 billion, up 30% year-over-year.

For the current second quarter, the company projected adjusted earnings of between 15 cents and 16 cents a share on revenue of $482 million to $484 million.

Analysts expect 15 cents a share in adjusted earnings on revenue of $480.1 million.
