Venture Global will sell a minimum of 1 million tonnes of U.S. liquefied natural gas per year to Atlantic-SEE LNG in an expansion of its contract with the Greek joint venture.
The expansion doubles the natural-gas exporter's contract with Atlantic-SEE LNG, a joint venture between the Greek firms Aktor Group and Depa Commercial. The contract begins in 2030 and has a 20-year term.
Venture Global signed the original agreement in November, after investing in the Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal in Greece.
"The Vertical Corridor has emerged as a vital energy hub for the region, and our continued investment in infrastructure such as the Alexandroupolis terminal is helping create new pathways for secure, reliable energy supply across Central and Eastern Europe," Venture Global Chief Executive Officer Mike Sabel said.
The company also on Thursday said it had closed two senior secured note sales totalling $2.25 billion, proceeds from which will be used to redeem all of its outstanding senior secured notes due 2028.
