Stellantis' (STLA) Chrysler is recalling about 1.1 million vehicles in the US because of a power steering pump wiring issue that could overheat and cause a fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday.
A faulty power steering could cause a fire even when the vehicle is parked with the ignition in the "Off" position, it said.
The regulator said the recall covers certain 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles.
Dealers will inspect and replace affected parts, as necessary, for free, according to the regulator.
