Bear Sees REA Group Braced for Property Price Decline -- Market Talk

0227 GMT - REA Group's bear at Bell Potter sees the News Corp-controlled property advertiser bracing for a tough December half for Australian housing prices. Analyst Michael Ardrey tells clients that the group's expectation of flat prices across the 2026 calendar year implies a weak December half, pointing out that combined state capital-city price growth was at 6.4% in May. He thinks it's a buyers' market and that REA's ability to pass on price rises to customers may waver. Bell Potter keeps a sell rating on the stock and lowers its target price 2.9% to 133.00 Australian dollars. Shares are down 3.5% at A$139.52. News Corp is the parent company of Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
