Tesla's (TSLA) effort to secure EU approval for its supervised self-driving software faces opposition from Sweden's transport authority, which urged regulators to reject the rollout unless the automaker removes a feature that lets vehicles exceed posted speed limits, Reuters reported Thursday, citing a letter to the EU's Technical Committee on Motor Vehicle.

Tesla's self-driving system has been approved in some European countries, and its EU-wide authorization will be reviewed on June 30, the report said.

Tesla and Sweden's transport administration did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
