美国财政部6月18日公布最新国际资本流动报告，中国4月持续减持美国国债，持仓规模降至6511亿美元，为连续三个月减持美债，且规模创下近18年来最低水准(这是2008年9月以来的最低水准)。与此同时，中国央行黄金储备已连续第19个月增加。在全球地缘政治风险升温、市场对美联储独立性疑虑加剧之际，中国正持续推进外汇储备多元化配置，以黄金等避险资产应对金融风险。
中国减持美债的趋势已持续多年，自特朗普第一个总统任期以来，中国持有美债规模总体呈现缓慢但非线性下降的态势。去年3月，中国更被英国超越，退居美国国债第三大海外持有国，排名仅次于日本和英国。
