Aura Energy (ASX:AEE) said the Swedish Parliament voted to amend the country's Nuclear Activities Act and associated legislation, facilitating uranium mine development at the company's Häggån project in Sweden, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Uranium mining will no longer be classified as a nuclear facility, eliminating the requirement for explicit municipal consent for development, the filing said.
The legislative changes are expected to take effect on July 15, per the filing.
Shares rose 5% in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
