KFC's Brand Relaunch Looks Positive for Collins Foods -- Market Talk

0329 GMT - KFC's apparent global brand relaunch is viewed by Citi as likely positive for Australian operator Collins Foods, albeit at a cost. KFC owner Yum Brands is rolling out new restaurant designs and menu items, a strategy that Citi analyst Sam Teeger says could boost same-store sales at outlets operated by Australian franchiser Collins. With several new emerging competitors in Australia, Teeger tells clients in a note that KFC's modernization is much needed. However, he cautions that the changes could increase capital expenditure and operating expenses for Collins over the medium term. Citi has a neutral rating and a target price of 10.45 Australian dollars on the stock, which is up 1.3% at A$8.62. (stuart.condie@wsj.com)
