LG化学公司表示，计划到2035年投资15万亿韩元（约合97.4亿美元）用于研发，以培育半导体、移动出行和机器人材料以及抗癌药物等领域的新兴增长动力。
LG化学首席执行官Kim Dong-chun周一在员工大会上公布了该计划。此举旨在推动公司业务多元化，摆脱对传统石化业务的依赖，拓展至高附加值领域。
他表示：“我们将通过重点发展半导体、移动出行和机器人材料以及抗癌药物等核心未来增长业务，来升级我们的业务组合。”
在总投资额中，LG化学计划将70%用于半导体、移动出行和机器人材料，同时专注于获取领先技术并开发基于人工智能的新型应用。
该公司将专注于半导体领域的先进封装材料，同时将其移动和机器人材料业务拓展至机器人结构材料、精密驱动材料和粘合材料等领域。
在抗癌药物业务方面，LG化学计划通过全球临床试验和战略合作来强化其研发管线。
