马萨诸塞州民主党联邦参议员伊丽莎白・沃伦于周三表示，美联储主席凯文・沃什在利率政策上已然进退维谷，没有理想的可选方案。
沃伦在消费者新闻与商业频道节目中指出：“是唐纳德・特朗普把凯文・沃什和美联储逼进了死胡同。如果美联储选择加息，美国家庭的经济压力会进一步加大，失业率也会走高；可一旦降息，受特朗普征收关税、能源政策调整等因素影响，通胀很可能彻底失控。沃什如今左右为难，束手束脚。”
此番言论发表距离沃什以美联储掌门人身份主持首次议息会议刚过去一周。在本次会议上，沃什牵头成立五个专项工作组，针对货币政策多个领域展开研究部署，同时在会后政策声明中删除了以往的前瞻性指引表述。
沃伦表示：“整场会议里，唯一值得关注的信号就是，沃什其实清楚自己深陷政策困局，却打算对此避而不谈。他选择减少政策沟通表态，但说实话，我并不认为这种做法能解决任何现实问题。”
