Becton, Dickinson (BDX) said Tuesday that Vizient granted an Innovative Technology contract to its BD CentroVena One central venous catheter insertion system.
The medical technology company said the contract, awarded after an evaluation by hospital experts on Vizient's client-led councils, recognizes products with the potential to enhance healthcare delivery.
The integrated device simplifies the procedure by combining the guidewire, needle, syringe, and catheter, resulting in 30% fewer steps and up to a 50% shorter procedure time, the company added.
