特朗普政府极力推动核电复兴，计划投入数百亿美元资金支持反应堆采购项目。
一项定于周二公布的新方案显示，美国能源部将提供总额175亿美元低息贷款，供电力企业采购Westinghouse AP1000机组设备。
美国能源部表示，这批贷款将用于加速国内10台反应堆的建设，共推出五组贷款额度，每组对应两台机组项目。
美国能源部长克里斯・赖特称，这批附条件贷款是特朗普政府宏大规划的一环，旨在“开启美国新一轮核电复兴”。
赖特表示：“相关贷款最多可将大型反应堆建设周期缩短三年，降低施工成本，保障美国落地特朗普总统宏大且富有雄心的能源扩容计划。”
美国能源部透露，已有七家电力企业就五组项目贷款签署正式意向书，暂未披露企业名称。
