港灯宣布，7月燃料调整费为每度电41.9仙，较6月的31.3仙，上调10.6仙，上调幅度33.9%。有关调整进一步反映国际燃料价格受中东战事影响而显著上升，由于“递延效应”，目前收费仍未完全反映燃料成本的最新变动。加上中东局势未明朗，未来燃料调整费将继续上升。 每月燃料调整费是按既定机制、根据过去三个月平均实际燃料成本计算。7月的燃料调整费是按今年3月、4月及5月的平均燃料成本而厘定，当时国际油价及天然气价格正受中东战事影响而明显上升。 港灯发言人强调，公司连月来已采取不同措施，包括调整燃料组合及调动气源，应对中东战事导致来自该地区的液化天然气供应骤停的影响，避免电力供应受到天然气短缺而有所限制。未来会继续密切监察国际能源市场的变化，透过多元燃料采购、优化燃料组合及审慎库存管理，致力控制燃料成本，在确保电力供应的同时，符合排放限值以及减低价格波动对客户的影响。另外，燃料调整费一直按透明的“实报实销”机制厘定，公司仅收回实际燃料成本，并不从中获利。
