快科技7月1日消息，据媒体报道，“互联网之父”、互联网奠基者之一、谷歌副总裁兼首席互联网布道师温顿瑟夫将于下周退休，为科技史上一段极具影响力的职业生涯画上句号。
该消息出自大卫·帕特森，他曾参与开创RISC处理器架构，他近日在Open Frontier大会上宣布，瑟夫已经在谷歌任职超过20年，并将在一周后正式退休。
现年83岁的瑟夫与罗伯特·卡恩被公认为现代互联网网络协议的主要设计者。
瑟夫从20世纪70年代起参与开发并推广TCP/IP，让原本相互独立的计算机网络能够彼此通信。
凭借这些贡献，他先后获得总统自由勋章、图灵奖和多项荣誉学位；2005年起，瑟夫担任谷歌副总裁兼首席互联网布道师。
据悉，此次大会讨论的重点之一，是少数资金和算力雄厚的实验室正逐渐垄断先进AI模型。
瑟夫参与制定的互联网协议诞生于去中心化的开放网络环境，这样的环境也是协议能够延续至今的重要原因。
瑟夫预计，随着能够自主行动、彼此协作的AI智能体普及，科技行业最终还会重新依赖统一标准。
