美国航空计划于今年年底前在纽约约翰·肯尼迪国际机场开设一家全新的即取即走休息室(grab-and-go lounge)，这是该机场四年来首个新设施，旨在吸引高端乘客，缩小与达美航空和美联航的利润差距。

　　这家新休息室占地3700平方英尺，将配备咖啡吧，提供冷热咖啡饮品以及可供旅客携带的冷热餐食。

　　近年来，航空公司纷纷增设此类短时休息室，为信用卡持卡人和高消费旅客提供更多空间选择，避免大型机场俱乐部过度拥挤。美联航于2022年底在丹佛国际机场开设了其首个即取即走休息室。

　　航空公司与信用卡公司均提高了入场门槛或缩减了免费携伴等福利，以防止过度拥挤。

　　美国航空去年在北卡罗来纳州夏洛特道格拉斯国际机场开设了首个名为Provisions的即取即走休息室。

　　美国航空在肯尼迪机场使用8号航站楼，与其寰宇一家联盟伙伴日本航空、阿拉斯加航空、英国航空等共享该航站楼。

　　该航司于2022年在肯尼迪机场开设了三间高端休息室，面向商务舱、头等舱旅客及其他长途航班常旅客精英会员。此外，机场还设有一间Admirals Club，主要面向休息室会员卡用户。美国航空近期已在芝加哥和奥斯汀等地更新了休息室设施，但纽约的空间尚未进行类似升级。
