EnergyPathways公司已正式接受东爱尔兰海天然气储存开发许可证，并启动了其MESH海上能源储存项目的工作计划。
该公司计划于2026年第三季度开展现场勘测，收集环境、地质及海床数据，为项目进入下一开发阶段后的工程、监管和地下研究提供支持。
该许可区域可容纳多达60个用于大规模能源储存的海底盐穴，可支持压缩空气储能、天然气储存向氢能储存的过渡，以及氢气生产，具体需视监管批准和融资情况而定。
EnergyPathways表示，MESH项目全称为Marram能源储存中心，已被英国政府指定为国家重点项目，目标于2031年投入运营，预计将成为英国最大的综合能源储存设施。
该公司还对英国天然气与电力市场办公室决定开启长期储能上限与下限机制第二轮申请窗口表示欢迎，并表示计划提交MESH项目中的压缩空气储能部分以供审议。
