商业内幕网站报道称，知情人士透露，微软正持续努力控制成本，计划很快宣布裁员。
据知情人士消息，此次裁员将影响数千个职位，包括销售和咨询岗位，以及Xbox游戏部门的职位。
此次裁员规模将小于2025年的类似裁员。知情人士补充说，此次裁员人数将不到公司22万员工总数的2.5%。
知情人士称，微软计划下周宣布裁员消息，但具体时间可能会有所变动。一位知情人士透露，部分受影响的员工将立即获得新的职位。
商业内幕网站提到，往年，微软有时会在7月1日新财年开始前后裁员。2025年，该公司在5月份裁减了6000名职位，并在7月份又裁减了9000名员工，约占公司员工总数的4%。
商业内幕网站认为，这些计划凸显了微软在加大人工智能投入的同时，努力控制成本的举措。华尔街也对人工智能可能取代软件服务(理论上包括微软的部分产品)的担忧，给微软施加了压力。
