Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI, NZE:SMI) filed a memorandum with New Zealand's Environmental Protection Authority requesting that the processing of the Bendigo-Ophir gold project's fast-track approvals application be resumed on Aug. 17, according to simultaneous filings with the Australian and New Zealand bourses on Friday.

This will allow for a total processing pause of 35 working days to respond to the expert panel's request for further information issued on June 25, as well as to complete workshops with regulators on consent conditions and management plans.

A final decision from the expert panel is expected by Dec. 17.

Its shares jumped 5% in recent trading on Friday on the ASX and 4% on the NZX.
