Cauldron Energy (ASX:CXU) said drilling is underway for the current season at its Yanrey uranium project in Western Australia following minor delays caused by wet weather, with a heritage survey completed and Wallis Drilling having arrived on site, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The company said the campaign aims to drill test a broad range of targets with the dual aims of extending existing reported resources and targeting potential discoveries, with the Manyingee North and Manyingee South deposit areas the major focus for extending and expanding on the mineral resource estimates delivered in February.

Exploration drilling is also planned at the Cosgrove and Bennet Well (West) projects and trial drilling on a tenement recently acquired from Wyloo, the filing added.

The program will take place over the next six to eight weeks and consist of an estimated 10,000 meters of air-core drilling, it added.
