Star Entertainment Group Settles Tax Dispute With Australian Taxation Office

Star Entertainment Group (ASX:SGR) reached a settlement with the Commissioner of Taxation over long-running goods and services tax and withholding tax disputes linked to junket operator payments between 2013 and 2020, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The company expects to receive a refund of around AU$33 million and record an estimated AU$55 million charge for the fiscal year ended June 30, the filing said.
The company ceased all dealings with junket operators in October 2020, the filing added.
