路透伦敦7月7日 - 英国周二 表示，将 斥资1.9亿英镑(2.5422亿美元) 用于“精确打击导弹”(PrSM) 项目，以此 增强陆军的远程打击能力，该武器可摧毁500公里外的目标。
英国即将卸任的首相基尔·斯塔默周二出席了在安卡拉举行的北约峰会 (link)，他希望借此机会说服美国总统唐纳德·特朗普以及北约其他成员国，英国的国防开支 (link) 正朝着正确的方向发展。
英国国防部在一 份声明中表示， 采购PrSM导弹将增强英国对北约威慑力的贡献，并补充称首批交付可能于2027年完成。
该采购项目由英国《国防投资计划》提供资金，该计划此前曾因 (link) 未能制定出将国防开支提升至国内生产总值（GDP） 3.5%的具体 路径而受到批评——这一北约目标是去年特朗普表示欧洲应增加国防开支后设定的。
这款新一代超音速弹道导弹由洛克希德·马丁公司 LMT.N 制造，该项目是美国与澳大利亚的合作项目。英国表示，未来可能参与该导弹的进一步研发工作。
