路透华盛顿7月8日 - 据Truth Social上的一篇帖子称，唐纳德·特朗普总统周三表示，他将驾驶一架旧款“空军一号”专机从土耳其飞往英国，“以怀念往昔”，而卡塔尔赠送给美国的新款“空军一号”也将造访英国的同一处基地。
特朗普表示，这架刚大修完毕的“空军一号”将飞往英国的米尔登霍尔皇家空军基地，以便驻扎在那里的美军官兵能够参观这架飞机。
这架新飞机是波音 BA.N 747，由卡塔尔去年赠送给美国，并由国防承包商L3Harris Technologies LHX.N 进行了改装。
这架巨型客机涂装了由特朗普亲自选定的红、白、深蓝和金色涂装，这与“空军一号”数十年来沿用的标志性设计大相径庭。
