据报道，距离7月4日美国独立日前几天，美国农业部一名官员致电国内多家大型连锁商超，提出一项紧迫诉求：降低牛肉价格。

　　知情人士透露，美国农业部部长布鲁克・罗林斯的办公室主任泰特・贝内特上周与多家商超沟通，包括沃尔玛、克罗格、艾伯森。她向各家询问节日周末前的牛肉定价，届时户外烧烤汉堡的市场需求将达到峰值。

　　两名知情人士称，在农业部与沃尔玛的通话中，这家全美最大商超表示，早已规划好在夏季下调多款商品价格，牛肉品类也包含在内。沃尔玛已于6月29日在门店落实降价方案，随后还准备了宣传降价举措的新闻稿。

　　农业部将沃尔玛的降价计划上报白宫，特朗普总统周一随即宣称取得成效，他在社交媒体发文称，沃尔玛是“应本届政府要求”下调商品售价。短短数分钟后，沃尔玛便发布公告，表示将下调数千款商品售价，让利消费者。

　　沃尔玛称，降幅最高的品类为碎牛肉，降价幅度达12%。特朗普在帖文中呼吁其他零售商效仿沃尔玛。

　　白宫发言人表示，沃尔玛此次降价得益于特朗普政府推行的多项举措：简化监管流程、减税、提升国内粮食产量。他称白宫长期与零售商保持密切沟通，确保废除拜登时期制冷剂环保法规所节省的成本，全部转化为终端商品降价，惠及消费者。
