高盛亚洲直接投资部主管许明茵周四表示，日本的企业收购和私募股权活动尚处于“初期阶段”，该国股市已具备整合的良好条件。她表示，鉴于日本、韩国和澳大利亚经济稳定且企业规模较大，这些地区是亚洲并购或私有化交易中最具盈利潜力的地区。过去三年间，外国私募股权公司在日本日益活跃，尤其是随着公司治理规则的调整，企业及董事会面临着提高投资者回报的压力。许明茵指出，日本上市公司数量为4000家，美国约为5000家，而美国经济的规模是日本的六倍。相比之下，与日本规模相当的德国仅有约400家上市公司，日本的上市公司数量明显偏多。她表示，日本有超过1000家公司的年营收超过10亿美元，对外国私募股权买家极具吸引力。“虽然日本最终应有多少家上市公司尚可讨论，但我们目前才刚刚进入这一进程的初期阶段。”
