1248 ET - Shopify's new partner model gives agencies and implementation partners clearer economic incentive to bring bigger or higher-growth merchants onto the platform and stay engaged post-launch. Deutsche Bank analysts call this a "modest positive" and an evolution from the partner program that began late 2025. He says the move shows Shopify wants to reinvest in the partner channel, "particularly as the company pushes further upmarket and competes for more complex merchant implementations across Plus, POS, and B2B use cases." So far, the analysts say that early partner feedback has been positive, though he notes that sales and marketing costs could rise but will "likely be offset by increased in gross merchandise value/revenue."
