据日经新闻，马来西亚计划于本月启动自主研发的石墨烯增强型锂离子电动车电池的小规模生产。这款电池的研发成本约为2000万林吉特(约490万美元)，将由Gigafactory Malaysia负责生产。该公司是NanoMalaysia Berhad的全资子公司，而NanoMalaysia Berhad隶属于马来西亚科学、工艺及创新部(MOSTI)。这款电池采用镍锰钴(NMC)电池化学体系，并加入了石墨烯以提高能量密度。NanoMalaysia首席执行官雷扎尔表示，表示，小规模商业化生产将于7月内启动，而兆瓦时级产能预计“最早将于2026年9月开始”。雷扎尔表示，这款石墨烯增强型电池预计单次充电续航里程可达640公里，同时支持快充，在最佳运行条件下最快仅需12分钟即可充满。
