美联储理事沃勒周一表示，如果本周公布的核心通胀数据再次走高，美联储将需要考虑近期加息。
他指出，美国已连续近五六个月看到通胀读数“更高、更高、更高、更高”。“如果再次出现高数值，我会将其视为信号，而非噪音；但如果数据走低，鉴于已有连续数月的高通胀，我可能还需要一两个月的数据才能确信：这确实是一个信号。”
此外，沃勒还就美联储点阵图发表评论称，尽管他无法代表整个联邦公开市场委员会，但可以对利率中值预测作出说明。他建议将点阵图预测的发布时间延迟至FOMC会议次日，而非与决议同一天公布。
市场定价显示，美联储到9月至少加息一次的预期几乎被完全消化，并充分定价到明年3月底加息两次。
