Aura Energy (ASX:AEE) said the Swedish Parliament enacted new legislation on Wednesday confirming that uranium mining will no longer be regulated as a nuclear facility and that uranium extraction will no longer require explicit municipal consent, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.
This came after a ban on uranium exploration and mining was removed, per the filing. It also follows the Geological Survey of Sweden's proposal to designate the company's Häggån deposit as a deposit of national interest for valuable substances or materials.
Aura Energy's shares jumped 5% in recent trading on Thursday.
