美联储理事库克周三表示，等待通胀放缓一段时间是明智之举，但若通胀未能很快放缓，已准备采取行动。库克指出：“我认为，从现在起应给予更多时间观察通胀如何发展。不过，未来我仍认为风险仍主要集中在通货膨胀上升方面，原因在于人工智能领域的投资热潮、关税、伊朗战争带来的价格压力。如果我们无法很快看到通胀放缓迹象，我已经准备好采取行动。我完全致力于实现我们的通胀目标，这一承诺坚定不移。”库克将当前形势与一年前的情况进行了对比，当时通胀率远高于美联储2%的目标，而就业市场看似稳定，但存在就业市场和通胀放缓的风险。“我注意到，与大约一年前相比，风险的平衡出现了显著变化，目前通胀风险已超过就业风险 。”她表示。
