法兴银行表示，日本政府养老投资基金（GPIF）在不改变资产配置的情况下，还有空间购买多达12.3万亿日元（760亿美元）的日本政府债券，可能为债市提供支撑。
Stephen Spratt等策略师在一份报告中指出，法兴估算，这个全球最大退休基金之一若逐步将国内债券持有比重，由截至3月底的26.9%提高至现行区间上限的31%，即可达成上述增持规模。周一有报道称，日本没有计划对GPIF的资产配置进行全面改革，但正在研究如何在现有架构下鼓励加码投资国内资产。
日本财务大臣片山皋月上周呼吁，包括GPIF在内的养老基金增加对日本金融资产的投资。她的言论引发了外界猜测，认为政府意在引导更多机构资金流入日本债市并支撑日元汇率。不过，市场普遍预期GPIF的策略资产配置短期内不太可能改变。
片山周二说，如有必要，GPIF将调整其投资组合配置，呼应内阁官房长官木原稔周一的说法。
