美国总统唐纳德・特朗普猛烈抨击纽约州州长凯西・霍楚尔出台全美首个数据中心建设暂缓令，称这项政策 “糟糕至极”，会重创纽约州经济。
特朗普在真实社交平台发文称：“凯西・霍楚尔州长出于政治考量，叫停了纽约州所有在建及规划中的数据中心项目。如今阿拉巴马、佛罗里达、得克萨斯、亚利桑那等多个州都在争抢这些企业落地。这些项目带来的税收与就业岗位，简直是源源不断的摇钱树！”
特朗普还补充称，纽约州 “应当立刻调整这项政策”。
霍楚尔也在社交平台发文回应特朗普。
她写道：“倘若数据中心真是什么‘液态黄金’，那纽约民众不该只分得一点残羹剩饭。我们按下暂停键，是因为支撑人工智能产业发展的当地社区理应共享发展红利。或许这套思路在华盛顿闻所未闻，但对我们而言，这就是分内之事。”
州长已于周二签署行政令，纽约州大型数据中心的审批流程将暂停最长 12 个月，州政府将在此期间出台针对这类设施的环境评估与监管规范。
该行政令规定，已经进入审批流程的数据中心项目可继续推进；医疗、教育用途的低能耗数据中心也不受禁令限制。
环保组织长期持续抗议大量新建数据中心，促使州长出台该政策。这类设施会消耗巨量电力与水资源。随着各大企业争相角逐人工智能赛道，弗吉尼亚、得克萨斯等州的数据中心建设热潮正持续高涨。
