美国密歇根大学公布的7月消费者信心指数初值从6月的49.5跃升至54.4，远高于经济学家预期的51.3。该指数进一步脱离5月创下的历史低位，回升至今年2月以来最高水平。调查负责人指出，信心的改善广泛覆盖了不同年龄、收入、财富及政治派别的群体。
同时，报告显示消费者的一年期通胀预期有所缓解，这份数据受到市场密切关注。金价在此背景下获得支撑，此前一个交易日因美元走强和国债收益率上升，黄金曾跌破4000美元关键心理关口。
尽管金价当日反弹，但本周仍可能录得显著跌幅。市场分析指出，能源价格上涨引发的通胀担忧是制约黄金表现的主要因素。如果汽油价格近期的回落走势出现逆转，消费者信心的回升势头恐怕难以持续。
