Riyadh Air said it would purchase more aircraft from Boeing and Airbus as the Saudi carrier seeks to expand its fleet.

The company said it was exercising options for 28 more 787 Dreamliner jets under an order that Riyadh Air placed in 2023. The announcement, made at the Farnborough International Airshow, includes a previously undisclosed purchase of 11 of the wide-body jets. Riyadh Air's firm order count will grow to 67 787 Dreamliners once the remaining 17 airplanes are finalized.

The airline also ordered six A350-1000 aircraft from Airbus under an agreement that was part of Riyadh Air's commitment for up to 50 A350-1000s announced in 2025. The carrier has so far ordered 31 of the aircraft.

No financial details were disclosed for the latest Boeing and Airbus aircraft commitments.
